PDX POP NOW!

PDX Pop Now! is like Portland’s mid-Summer Christmas. And finally it’s here! Unlike most summer music festivals, PPN! isn’t so overwhelming, but damn! this lineup is pretty spot on this year. What shouldn’t you miss? Honestly, you shouldn’t miss any of it. But you’ll definitely see me and my camera floating around during these sets:

Jared Mees and the Grown Children - Friday, outside at 6pm
Tender loving favourites playing beautifully wound up indie with utmost sincerity.

And And And - Friday, outside at midnight
The multi-albumed explosion of a band with a live show that never lets you down.

Wild Ones - Saturday, inside at 4:50pm
Dancey-cute indie pop perfection? Sweet calming vocals dancing with well orchestrated beats and charming guitar? Yes, yes, and yes.
Radiation City - Sunday, outside at 4:10pm
I love them. All of them. Their music will make your heart cry tears of half-dancing-half-swooning joy.

Onuinu - Sunday, inside at 6:55pm
This man will make you sweaty. He might even make you dance.

Kelli Schaefer Sunday, outside at 9pm
A surprisingly thunderous wall of beautiful music comes from Amigo/Amiga’s singer-songstress. Seeing her live is like being struck by lightning.

Brainstorm - Sunday, outside at 9:40pm
Your brain might literally melt right inside your skull and leak out onto the floor while watching them play. Try not to slip in the puddle of your psyche when they’re getting you moving.
Seriously though, check out this schedule. Don’t miss a thing. See you tonight!
